GO! Solutions (Petcurean): what is in it, and what we would feed instead

Carnivore, Sensitivity + Shine, Skin + Coat Care · Pet Valu, PetSmart, independents — Petcurean is based in Chilliwack, BC; kibble is made in Elmira, Ontario

Our take

GO! is a well-made Canadian kibble from a company we respect. The format is the limit, not the ingredient list: it is cooked into a pellet and it needs starch to hold together.

What the label says

GO! Solutions is made by Petcurean, a BC-based premium kibble maker. The ingredient quality is genuinely solid — clearly named proteins, real whole foods. But the same format ceiling applies as with any other extruded kibble, and several GO! recipes carry the same pea-heavy concerns as other premium grain-free brands.

What is in it
  • Family-owned (a positive) but still extruded high-heat kibble
  • Sensitivity + Shine includes pea protein and pea fibre
  • 30–45% carbohydrate, like most kibble
  • Protein meals (chicken meal, turkey meal) carry much of the protein
  • One formula, fed for years, is the norm
  • Fats in the bag oxidize over the weeks it is open
What fresh gives back
  • Whole, named protein
  • Moisture in the food (raw is about 70% water; kibble about 10%)
  • Protein rotation
  • No starch binder
  • Fresh fats and omega-3s

Carbohydrate reality check: Even GO!'s "high-protein" recipes calculate to 25-35% carbohydrates after running the math (100 − protein − fat − moisture − fibre − 7%). The kibble format requires starch as a binder; you cannot extrude a kibble pellet without it.
